Ink Jet Printers Industrial quality ink jet printers are ideal for applying bar codes and human readable information to a wide variety of surfaces. Different types of ink are available: one variety for porous surfaces (paper, cardboard) and a fast-drying variety for non-porous surfaces (plastic, glass, metal). EVOLUTION Ink Jet Printer Series The Evolution is a high resolution ink jet printer designed by Digital Design, with print head technology by Hewlett Packard. It's priced competitively with contact-style "roller coders" that are still widely used. Print resolution is up to 300 dpi at a production line speed of up to 200 feet per minute. Character heights are variable-- from one line of 1/2" tall characters to 2 lines of 7/32" tall characters. Evolution comes with a built-in font style-- optional fonts are available, installed through flash card media. Up to 3 logos can also be installed via flash card. As many as 32 printhead modules can be networked and individually operated by the hand controller. The Evolution system comes complete and ready to install, with the printhead module, mounting bracket system, and handheld controller all included.
